Wordpress 2.7 Preview |
The next Version of Wordpress isn’t due until early to mid November (12th?) but if you are curious about what you might see once it is released, co-founder Matt Mullenweg gave a demonstration last week at NYC Wordcamp.
There will be a totally revamped admin area including left side menus, lots of ajax, commenting upgrades, and the ability to install plugins from your admin panel. Watch it:
(Thanks to CenterNetworks for the video)
Also some news from the presentation of interest to those worried about your theme and plugins being compatible with the new version. Mullenweg says maybe yes maybe no on the themes mainly because of the threaded comments in the new version and probably compatible on the plugins as most of the hooks haven’t changed.
